As president of Café con Leche, the Latin student organization at my college, I led an initiative to strengthen community through intentional design. I created a clothing piece that represented our shared values, history, and pride, collaborating with a local Latin artist who airbrushed each hoodie by hand. I directed the visual concept, coordinated production, and ensured the design reflected the legacy of Chicanx students in an authentic and meaningful way. The hoodie quickly became a symbol of unity on campus, and when shared on social media, even alumni reached out to purchase it. This project demonstrated how thoughtful, human-centered design can foster connection, belonging, and collective pride.
